What’s new in the app and around the project.
Hotspot now consistently means a Wi-Fi network, while Bluetooth items are identified as devices. Important marking uses one identity-aware workflow across profiles, activity history, online status, and notifications, and no longer creates a device profile from a network ID.

Send beta feedback ↗Hotspot Observer is now available for public testing on Windows 10 and Windows 11, with setup and MSI downloads for x64, ARM64, and x86 systems. This is prerelease software, and installation requires accepting the beta license agreement.
Links now select and focus the correct network, device, profile, or activity-log item, with corrected identity routing for Bluetooth devices, named Wi-Fi networks, and primary identifiers.
Bluetooth profiles are no longer misclassified as Wi-Fi, and scans avoid unsupported Bluetooth property requests that could interrupt discovery.
Online networks and devices, profiles, ignored items, and activity views now update incrementally, preserving item state and making category changes appear without disruptive list refreshes.
Observed status now includes live sightings and remains accurate across scans, with corrected captions and fewer duplicate, stale, or lifecycle-related reliability alerts.
The installer now removes the previous version cleanly, skips already-handled prerequisites during upgrades, uses direct Windows App Runtime downloads, and restarts Hotspot Observer only once.
Activity-log failures are now reported explicitly, while local JSON saves better withstand temporary file locks.
Section links now scroll to the intended content more reliably, and new robots and sitemap files help search engines discover the website’s main pages.
